My Story
Writing has always been integral to my life, from promoting my work to writing a technical bid or developing my poetic voice, writing is part of who I am. Along the way I’ve found myself helping others with their writing, either through coaching, editing or re-writing their work.
This pandemic has given me a lot of time to think, reassess my life and decide what is really important. I’ve seized opportunities during this difficult time that I might never have had the courage to otherwise. A fundamental shift in my thinking means that writing is now my priority and this decision has led me to make writing my business. |
My Journey
I trained as a writer and actor then followed my passion for movies into the film industry. Using my writing skills I started working as a script reader for the BBC and the First Film Foundation. I then won a scholarship with Channel 4 to train as a film technician and enjoyed working on set in production, art department, sound and camera.
I was working as a post-production supervisor when 911 punched a hole in the film and TV market causing massive redundancies and sadly had to leave the industry. Retraining as a project manager and development coach I realised there was always something missing in the corporate world. So, when redundancy came knocking, I welcomed it with open arms, following my creative passions into design.
Luckily for me, the training involved spending some time in an art studio, learning the old fashioned way to design - through art. Drawing, sculpture, photography, I lapped them all up and rediscovered my creative voice.
I have been developing as a writer, visual artist and poet ever since.
